The Demon of Dogma.

Subject: Why You Should Ignore Conventional Advice.

Would you like to know the easiest way to end up in a life that has you constantly feeling like you just stepped in fresh dogshit?

Here it is:

Listen to all the normal people who give you advice and take what they say to heart.

It’s that easy - really.

Most people will give you nothing but reasons why what you really want to do is a bad idea. They’ll tell you it won’t work. And they will do their very best to persuade you into following their friendly advice.

Be like everyone else. Get a good job. Settle down. And stop being so silly.

This is not real advice. It is dogma. Real advice will make you think about yourself and your life in a totally different way. Listening to dogma is like swallowing four litres of cough medicine. It feels really fucked because it is really fucked. And unlike cough medicine, it is not designed to make you better. It’s designed to make you shut up and become nothing but a cog in a machine that does not give a shit about you or what you want.

If you are stuck in a life that makes you feel terrible. If you wake up unhappy. If you are doing work that isn’t who you are. And you know you’re doing something wrong in your life. Most people will just tell you to keep doing it because it’s too risky, too hard, too uncertain, too this and too that - to fuck it all off and go after what makes you truly happy.

Now you tell me - how much bloody sense does that make?

Absolutely none. It is complete bullshit. And their thinking is nothing more than the product of social conditioning multiplied by fear of judgement, failure and the unknown. Which is to say - it’s not thinking at all.

It’s a regurgitation of the bullshit they were once told and believed. It’s dogma. It is actually not normal advice.

We just call it normal advice because it’s been repeated so frequently by all the normal people who repeat it - that it has become normal to hear it.

And so now this dogma is known as normal advice.

The problem with this normal advice, is that it does not apply to people who are born to be different. It does not apply to those born to be Artists, Entrepreneurs and Creators. And if you are one of those people and you take their advice - you’ll end up absolutely fucking miserable. That is my promise to you.

So why do they do it?  Why do people love stomping on hopes and dreams? Why don’t they just cheer you on and get excited for you? Why don’t they get inspired too?

I do not know why.

Maybe they’re jealous of your spirit and afraid that you will pull it off. Maybe, years ago, the same calling was once within them and they ignored it and now it’s too late for them and they know it. Maybe they just don’t fucking like you. It could be anything.

I don’t know the exact reason and I doubt there is just one - there is likely to be many reasons because people are complex things, each with their own unique psychological structure and worldview.

But..

What I do know is how you fix this problem.

And you fix it by keeping your mouth shut.

Listen to me closely right now:

If you are easily discouraged from your heart’s desires because of what people say about them - DO NOT tell anyone about them unless they belong to your inner circle of winners.

If you simply don’t give a fuck what people think or say - then tell whoever you like. But if you’re like most people and you are easily swayed, just say NOTHING until you’re successful. Resist the urge to open your mouth and tell everyone what you have decided upon doing – then go do the work in silence to create the results.

Go to work in silence like a mad genius. Like someone possessed by a demon.  And work like hell to produce the results.

When it comes to shutting people up, the results are the only thing that matter and until you get those results you say nothing to anyone because you have nothing to show to anyone - you only have words. And words mean nothing.

So, when normal people come to offer their friendly, normal advice – you nod your head and you agree without bothering to argue or share your desires.

You let their words slip in one ear and fall straight out the other.

You don’t hear them at all. And you are deaf to their shitty advice.

When you truly learn to ignore the voices of the outside world and you dive fully into the desires of your soul - it all changes at that very moment. All you see is the vision, the dream, the business, the book, the music, the art – the piece of greatness that you are creating with your own hands.

Your eyes are fixed on that vision and that vision is all you can think about. You live it. You breathe it. You slowly become it. And eventually you hear nothing. All that exists is you and the work. Everything else just falls away as if it never mattered in the first place.

The mad genius at work is deaf to bullshit and this is why he can produce great work. He is focused on his target and hears nothing other than his own heartbeat as he works.

Normal people don’t give him their bullshit advice either, because they know that he does not give a damn about it. They know he exists in another world. And they know this because every single time they tried to give him their bullshit advice - he just kept being a mad genius and he just kept doing his thing.

So they talk shit about the mad genius because they secretly envy his complete disregard for what people think about him. They talk shit until the mad genius strikes his target and suddenly becomes a success. And then they all want to be friends with him.

On planet earth, to eventually live life exactly how you want to live it instead how other people think you should live it - you need to be what they call crazy.

You need to be completely deaf to all the bullshit around you because if you are not completely deaf to all the bullshit around you, it will slither its way into your mind and chew away at the roots of your vision.

It will weaken the strength of the vision.

Allow too much of the bullshit into your mind and your vision will collapse down upon itself.

So you must not let any of it into your mind.

You must stand guard at the doors to your mind with an axe and cut the head clean off the demon of dogma before it gets inside you.

And all you hear is the inner world – the world inside you.

All you see is the vision of what you’re building.

And NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

Listen here champ. You have all the answers inside you. You know exactly what you want. You just haven’t embraced it with open arms.

You are afraid of being who you truly are.

Do you think the mad genius working away at his vision cares what people think about him?

No he does not care. And that is why he is able to produce great work.

When you care what other people think about you it kills your creative genius and sabotages you from doing the best work possible because you are worried about what they think and you are not focused on the work.

When you don’t believe in your vision and you lack the courage to trust your gut - you will listen to other people tell you their bullshit opinion. You will give in to the dogma and you’ll become a puppet on invisible strings.

Remember that one. And think about it deeply. A puppet on invisible strings.

If you want real advice that makes you think – ask somebody who has lived the life of a rebel. Someone who has been successful on their own terms.

They will tell you the opposite of what all the normal people will tell you.

They will tell you what your gut wants to hear.

And they will make you think.

The world of the Mad Genius, The Artist, The Entrepreneur and The Creator - is the most beautiful world there is.

It’s a world of complete silence. Filled with passion and excitement. Where all that matters is doing what you were born to do. It’s a struggle - but it’s the only worthy struggle. It’s the struggle to turn dreams into realities.

It is in this world that great work exists.  And this hidden world is the source of all genius.

Will you find this world?

Or.

Will you live your entire life on autopilot as a machine programmed by the dogma of the world we live in?

That choice is yours, buddy.

Until next time.
