Subject: Overcoming Failure and Rising Up.
There is something important you need to know about life - especially if you are an ambitious individual chasing big goals.
So listen carefully:
Failure. Setbacks. Adversity. Sabotage. Betrayal.
And defeat.
It’s all a part of this game.
A part of life.
There is no way around the shit.
So, stop looking for a way around the shit.
Instead – just embrace it.
Failure is what will make you into a winner.
And failure will forge you into a champion.
We are all conditioned to think of failure as a bad thing and we all think that failure means defeat.
Bullshit.
Failure is a requirement of success.
And defeat is a choice you make when you give up your pursuit of success.
It’s a choice you make when you sell your soul to the devil.
So fuck defeat.
No matter how many times life smacks you in the mouth and sits you on your ass – you get back up, you dust off and you go back into that bitch even more ferocious than before.
Because life is simply hard. And it only get’s harder when you be a bitch.
It’s going to kick the shit out of you until you decide to kick the shit out of it.
You can either accept that or you can complain about it.
The choice is yours.
I stopped complaining about getting my ass kicked by life many years ago because I quickly realised that complaining isn’t gonna fix anything.
Complaining does nothing.
You see – the first step to winning is to stop complaining.
When you complain you give away your power over life.
And you make yourself weaker.
So don’t complain.
Accept your situation for what it is. And then hustle to make it better because you can be damn sure it will not get better on its own.
That’s up to you.
It will always be up to you.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky – your life is going to look like squashed dogshit.
Nothing is going to be working.
You’re going to be lonely.
And deep in the shit.
Those are the times when you need to dig deep and find strength within.
The strength that will carry you through to the other side of the darkness.
And remember that the darkness is a gift.
Suffering. Struggle. Pain. Adversity.
It is all a gift from life. And it will make you fucking solid if you choose to embrace and overcome it.
You can always tell when someone has had an easy life and been given everything - just like the spoilt children of wealthy families.
They’re soft. They’re annoying. They’re stupid. And they’re fucking useless at life.
And they are that way, because that is what happens when you never have to suffer for anything. That is what happens when you are handed everything and are never required to struggle for what you want.
But to those of you who are out there, and trying, and failing.
Keep going.
And do not quit unless you’re doing the wrong thing.
For failure will toughen you up, and it will prepare you for success.
It will teach you the lessons.
And it’s the price you must pay in order to win big.
Bouncing back from failure is something you need to get good at if you want to eventually become successful. If you cannot get back up after being knocked down, once, twice or more - you’re not going to get what you want.
It’s that fucking simple.
There’s an old friend of mine who I met, when I was on one of my adventures as a young gun - a friend who is now a successful businessman.
Back then when he was struggling to make it - he always, always, always said the same thing to me when we spoke:
“The difference between the rich guys and the poor guys is the rich guys never gave up”
Those were his words. And they are the words he told himself every time life got him in a corner.
So how do you bounce back?
Well it’s very simple.
Do not look behind you and dwell on what could have been. Look in front of you and focus your attention on what is going to be. Focus on what you are going to create. Set new goals. Create a new vision in your mind. And begin walking towards it. One little step at a time.
That’s how you bounce back. And that is exactly what I have done every single time I have went back to square one and started over.
I didn’t sit around and cry about what could have been. I simply got back on my feet and began walking towards my new goals. My new vision. And the new future I imagined for myself.
It’s very, very important, that you develop the ability to do this because if you do not - failure will eventually wear you down and you will quit.
You see - when you continually lose, it changes the wiring of your brain and winning becomes harder and harder.
So you have to either win often or you have to be able to bounce back quickly, without dwelling on the past and without allowing your mind to fall into negative patterns of thinking - which is extremely fucking easy to do.
You will start to wear down. You will give in to complaining. You will lose hope, drive and ambition - and you will fall down into the dirt for good, with everyone else who quit, if you cannot bounce back.
Trust me on that.
If and when you fail - do not sit around and feel sorry for yourself. Just force yourself back up and force yourself to keep moving forward or you could be staying down for good.
Listen to me closely now. And think about the following words.
The world that you live in, will always give in to the man or woman who does not quit - and it will always give them what they want if they can persist through all the adversity and pain that life throws at them. Success is guaranteed if you do not give up. And the more you fail - the bigger your success will be. I promise.
Just think about that for a while.
It’s the pattern that is present throughout the lives of all super successful men and women - continual failure and disappointment that eventually led to massive success.
And that’s exactly why you need to be able to bounce back.
Whatever you want from life is going to have a price and so you must be willing to pay that price in order to get what you want.
That price will include falling down and failing - that is a promise.
Until Next Time.
