Stuff Does Not F**king Matter!

Subject: Why Material Possessions Don’t Matter.

More.

That’s the mantra of the modern age.

More is more and less is not enough.

Fuck off.

That’s a stupid way to go about living your life.

It’s a philosophy that will bring you nothing of real value at the end of the day.

And it’s a way of living that will cause you to lose everything that actually matters in life.

Do you understand that?

Chase material success to the detriment of everything else and you will lose everything else.

Everything that actually matters.

I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

And it’s bullshit.

Stuff is just stuff.

It has no substance.

And it has no soul.

It’s just shit that you give away money for that sits around and does nothing but make you think you are more because you own it.

At the end of the day – stuff means nothing.

All your fancy clothes.

All your fancy toys.

Your fancy car.

Your fancy gadgets.

And all the bullshit you own.

Means nothing.

The things that really matter in life cannot be purchased with money.

They can only be built.

Cultivated.

And nurtured.

Your relationships.

Your health.

The meaning and purpose you feel or don’t feel.

That is the stuff that matters.

And that is what you should focus on improving.

The basics man - nothing more.

The simple little things that we forget about every single day.

If you put money and material success above family, health and overall happiness in your life – you’re a fucking retard.

And you’ll either realise that before it’s too late.

Or you won’t.

Listen chump – life has been kind enough to let me dine with kings.

Kings with everything, yet nothing.

I’ve sat with them and seen the pain in their eyes.

The emptiness in their hearts.

I have felt the weight of their regret from across their shiny gold tables - knowing in my own heart that their regret is the product of a life spent chasing the wrong things.

And that was the greatest gift the universe has ever given me.

The gift of seeing the reality of everything I thought I wanted.

The gift of seeing what could happen if I followed through on my obsessions.

The gift of seeing where my arrogance could have taken me.

And for that – I am infinitely grateful.

In my mad quest to become rich like all the heroes I read about - I forgot about the things that make life worth living.

I forgot about love.

I forgot about kindness.

I forgot that my fellow man has a heart and soul that bleeds just like mine.

I cut myself off from everything that actually mean’t something.

I lost touch with a very important part of myself and it hurt like a motherfucker until I finally realised what I had done.

But now I know.

I know that nothing in the world is more important than love, kindness and your connection to the people around you.

Without them.

Without those people.

You have nothing.

I don’t give a fuck how much money you have and how much power you hold in your hands.

Without people around you, that you love – you have absolutely nothing.

So..

Cross the Porsche and the mansion off your list of goals.

That bullshit is a reward.

It is not the goal.

The goal is the good life.

And the good life is the simple life.

Nourishing food.

Loving relationships.

A healthy mind and body.

And a fucking mission – to make a difference in this world.

That’s what matters.

Not stuff.

Until Next Time.
