Subject: Why Nothing Valuable Will Ever Come Easy.
I learnt this lesson the hard way when I was younger.
Learning things the hard way has always been the way I like to learn things.
It’s what happens when you don’t think.
You fuck up and you learn.
If you’re not smart, you keep fucking up and you never learn.
It didn’t take long for me to realise how the world worked, once I got out there.
Once I started to live my life.
Once I was out of school and living in the real world.
I was doing Network Marketing.
That was where I learnt one of the first big lessons about life.
Easy come and easy go.
You see..
I was young and stupid.
I did not understand the ways of the world.
I thought I knew absolutely everything though.
Smarter people saw this.
They used it to their advantage.
The promise of this Network Marketing company was something for nothing.
That’s what I want to talk about today.
Getting something, for nothing.
To be more exact – I want to talk about why this does not exist in the real world.
It’s very simple why it does not exist.
Very simple.
And here’s why:
Nobody gives a fuck about you, buddy.
People only give a fuck about their immediate problems and desires.
Once you fully understand the lack of fucks given about you - you will understand how it is therefore impossible for the world to give you something for nothing.
Once you fully understand this, you’ll take more responsibility.
You won’t be waiting for lady luck anymore.
You’ll be sniffing out her cashmere ass and getting after it.
You will see, that nothing good is ever going to happen to you, unless you make it happen.
You will see, that you will never have anything good, unless you build it for yourself.
If somebody comes to you offering something that seems too good to be true – it is too good to be true.
In real life, good things take time to build.
In real life, this world only cares about your value to it.
The more valuable you can become to the world – the better things will be for you.
If you want to become more valuable - learn and acquire skills, knowledge and experience, that is relatively valuable to the world.
Do you understand this?
If you want something, become the type of person who get’s that something.
If you can do that, you will probably end up getting that something which you want.
YOU BE.
YOU DO.
THEN YOU HAVE.
The easier something is to do, the less important it is and the smaller the reward at the end.
The harder something is to do, the more important it is and the bigger the reward at the end.
The easier something comes to you, the easier it can be taken away from you.
Building something valuable and becoming something valuable takes time, effort and work.
It takes doing the obvious things that lead to success.
What are the obvious things that lead to success?
Above all: doing the work that matters the most, is the most obvious thing.
The work that matters the most, done as smart and consistently as possible - will eventually lead to success.
The bigger the success at the end - the more work there will be.
Once you understand this everything becomes simple.
Why?
You will understand that the difficulty of what you are trying to do will be directly proportionate to how important it is.
You will stop looking for the easy way out.
You will stop looking for shortcuts.
You will embrace the process.
You will do everything along the process to the best of your ability.
This applies to everything.
The faster something comes – the faster it will go.
If you take your time.
If you use your brain.
If you build things with care and devotion.
They will be of higher quality.
They will last longer.
Quality OVER quantity.
Not – quantity over quantity.
Here’s why:
When you focus on producing quality over quantity and you do it consistently – eventually you have quantity of quality.
You have something great that will last.
When you focus on producing quantity over quality – eventually you have nothing but quantity of quantity.
In other words: your shit sucks.
It’s poor quality.
Quality is everything.
Quality is what makes you stand out in the world.
Why does it make you stand out?
People are fucking lazy.
They DO NOT want to take their time and produce quality.
They want the money NOW.
They want the success NOW.
They want the rewards NOW.
Does this make sense?
People are LAZY.
Use this to your advantage.
Beat them with quality and take your time.
Do it smarter. Do it better.
Eventually you will have quantity of quality - then you win big.
Whether you’re an artist, a businessman or a construction worker – this old school principle is universal.
Do the job to the absolute best of your ability.
Pour your heart into it.
The end result will always be superior to something that was rushed.
Sure, it will take longer.
It will be harder too.
It will require more energy and focus and effort.
But.
You will ALWAYS have a better outcome.
If you don’t do things properly and you rush - you will miss the little things that matter and you will fuck it up.
It could be a business.
It could be a piece of art.
It does not matter.
Take your time.
Do it properly.
Understand this and you can use it to get ahead in life.
It becomes your edge.
It’s your secret weapon.
Easy come. Easy go.
